Colossal Weddings Photographer

Simple | Emotive | Authentic

People tell me I’m easy to approach, but I’ll let you decide for yourself. I can’t tell you when my journey started because God knows when it all started, but I can share that it’s driven by an intense desire to just keep learning new things. It’s uncomfortable at first but I believe every side quest we take always has something good in store for us.

“Just do it” - Nike. Even though I wear Adidas.

It’s the raw emotion between the couple that really speaks - you can’t force that. And when you have all those things in the bag, I’d like to think that that would make a heck of a photo.

I’ve always loved weddings - the emotions, the excitement, the meaning. I’ve had the chance to shoot some weddings before but by some chance, Afiq offered me to join if I wanted to learn. Frankly, I hesitated at first, but then I thought less about what I had to lose - namely feeling an amateur - and more about what I had to gain. It was an opportunity to not just capture people’s important moments, but also to see each photographer work on their craft in their element, and a reason for me to push myself to heights greater than past me would have been.

It’s great when the bride and groom worry less about the programme for the day and just let the wedding flow naturally.

I’ve always found it helpful to tell the couple “Don’t worry about everything. Just focus on yourselves and on us, and we’ll do this one bit at a time, yeah?” That usually helps to ground couples, especially those who may be nervous being the centre of attention, and allow them to experience the day to its fullest.

At Colossal, I also love that there’s such a diverse group of clients with fascinating wedding customs and practices so every shoot is such a great chance to learn and improve my story-telling.

There’s something magical about the intensity of the gaze between couples. It just speaks volumes about the depths of their emotions.
